After the launching of remake of The Karate Kid starring Jaden Smith, everyone been talking about it. Nice as claim by people around me. Actually I wasn’t keen on this movie but my friend was keen to watch it. So I decided to join in the crowd.

Before the movie, I was expecting another kid trying to learn Karate and beats his opponent.

I was expecting the martial art that will be used in this movie is Karate.

I was expecting something like this in the movie. The Karate attire. The ‘bird’ post.

But after the movie going into half way, I sense something wrong. Then I told my friend, am I watching the correct movie??

How come no Karate one???

I understand the opponent is using Chinese Kung Fu but isn’t Jaden suppose to learn Karate?

How come he learns Chinese Kung Fu instead. Some more at the climax of the movie, he even wears Kung Fu attire ala Yip Man.

I run a quick search and I discover that only few country use The Karate Kid as the title. Maybe is some way to promote their movie?

I don’t know. But I believe if they promote this movie as Kung Fu Kid, I doubt the cinema will be full in every time slot.

Good job for the promoting strategy. We should learn from them because none of my friends complain to me about this.

Oh ya, by the way, even though I admit the movie is nice, I give it a

3/10 rating.

Just came back from IP MAN 2.

Had hard time to get tickets for GSC and TGV as all tickets were almost sold out or left the front row seat but luckily I managed to get tickets at Mega Cineplex Cinema near my house.

Well, the long waited movie has arrived and from the impressive 1st episode, everyone is keen to watch the squeal of the 1st movie.

Actually I’m impressed on how they maintain the balance of the movie. The correct amount of fighting scene and the talking scene. So you won’t go like “Argh!! I need more fights!!” or “Argh!!! It’s all just fighting, nothing else”

But they include much humor in this series. And it is more touching compare to the 1st series.So you’ll probably laugh more.

And if those expect the amount of Donnie fighting scene will increase, I tell you that it’s a no. During the 1st series, it has 4 fighting scene. 1st is inside his house with a master, 2nd is with a guy who comes and challenges him, 3rd is with 10 Japanese and last is with the Japanese General.

Ip Man 2 has the same amount of Donnie fighting scene as well (total of 4) BUT they include extra fighting scene which involved Sammu Hung and the enermy. So all together will be 5 fighting scenes in this one and half hours movie.

Overall, it’s a very entertaining movie. And don’t worry, if you miss out the 1st series, you’ll still able to get the whole story of Ip Man 2 because it doesn’t really carry the whole story from the 1st one to this one.

Ah Hung and Ah Yen

So overall, the story line is pretty much the same like the 1st movie. He fights for the spirit of China martial art and bla bla. Something happened and he inspired to fight. Maybe I’d say it’s the same. It’s just same car with same engine but different outlook. So it is as entertaining as the previous one.

I’m not going to review any more of it because you judge it yourself when you watch the movie.
I’d give it a 4.5/5 rating for it.

In different note, the cinema staffs know that Ip Man 2 will only attracts Chinese audience mostly, so they come out with this brilliant idea of promoting their movie.

Tomorrow I’ll be watching Iron Man 2 but I doubt I’ll be able to write a review for it because right after the movie I’ll be off to Langkawi for the weekend. But I believe it will be good too as well

p/s : Do you know that Asia will be 1st to show all the new movie in cinema? Know why? Because if they show in USA or UK 1st, then they don’t need to do business in Asia already because pirated DVD will come fast into Asian market before the cinema start showing. So yea, thanks to that, we’re able to watch it 1st in cinema!

Yesterday I watched this movie which took everyone by surprise by winning the Acedemy Awards for The Best Film, winning over the 500million budget’s Avatar. Yea, you are right, it’s The Hurt Locker

Seriously, I was as surprise as most of you when I read the newpaper. I went like “WHAT????What the fuck is The Hurt Locker??”
So yesterday I watched it and I should say it’s a very good movie. Totally different from Avatar I should say. It really very gan cheong unlike Avatar where the you actually know the story like the good guy tries to beat the bad guy but initially loose but then eventually come back from behind and win. This movie seriously made my heart pouncing every minute when they trying to defuse the bomb. It was hard to me to predict when the bomb will explode. I can actually feel the feeling of being in the war zone where my life is in danger most of the time.

I’m not going to do any review for the movie because you can find it easily in the net.

For me the feeling of watching The Hurt Locker is much better than Avatar. The movie is more real compare to Avatar where only the graphic is worth all the praise. For me, I’d choose this type of movie over the movie which is like Avatar. For me, I like to watch movies that are able to reach deep inside me.

Oh…By the way, from wikipedia, it says that The Hurt Locker’s film producer emailed a group Acedemy Award voters in attempt to pursue them to vote for The Hurt Locker instead Avatar. He managed to and thanks to him, I got to know this movie.

You should give it a try and let me know what you think…

Maybe it’s a personal preference, I prefer true story inspired movie.

Invictus will be the next I shall watch.
