When I was watching this MTV in Youtube, I saw something which is wrong. You see, I was watching Najwa Mahiaddin’s Got To Go music video. For those who don’t know her, she is our Malaysian singer who currently studying in US. She has a very powerful voice and she is young!! Normally, when you surf a clip on Youtube, on your left side, you’ll see Youtube list out their suggestion clip which is related to the current clip you’re watching. see the screen shot below. Last weekend, I brought my dad to Starbucks in Gurney Plaza. Treated him a cup of coffee of the day. Both of us sat down to enjoy the black coffee while waiting for my mum to do her shopping, alone. Sorry but shopping is just not in our male gene. Both of us were facing outside and just looked at people walking by Starbucks.



Then I turned to him.



“Dad, do you know this is our generation lifestyle right now?”



“What do you mean?”



“Everything involves money right now”



“Everything is about branding right now”



“No one cares about how much you have in the wallet or how is your personality when they first meet you”



“People will judge on what car you drive? What is the brand of your shirt and pants? What handphone you’re using? What is the brand of your spectacle? What is the brand of your watch?Where do you eat?Where do you do your yamcha session?How big is your house”



“Worth or not worth is no longer a factor for most people when buying those things”



“Social status is our lifestyle right now”

Hallo!!!!!I’m back after a long hiatus from blogging since the end of August. The reason is I ventured into some other activity and now I kinda stabilize my task already. So I’m back to blogging world.

1st update.

Guess what? Hippocreep.com is going to celebrate its 1st birthday next month (January 2011). How fast time passed, right?

2nd update.

September, October, November. Three months I abandoned my blog and when I logged in just now, I got a shock of my life

1457 spam comments!!!????

crazy liao this time….and the funny thing is I wonder why people want to spam commenting in blog with such crappy comment. I mean, who is going to approve it??

Anyway, I spent nearly 1 hour to delete all the spam comments. Yep. I took such long time cause once a while, Digi Broadband decided to have some hiccup on its connection.
But, but, but, I’m back and to my followers (4 of them, LOL), sorry for going into hiatus for such long time. This time, Hippocreep is back!

Few days ago, our company came a cute account assistant. She 25 years old, (we made a bet about her age anyway and I won), slightly dyed brown hair and thin.

Fast forward to lunch time, she took her Guess tote bag and walked towards the main gate.

And all of us saw a man sitting in a car to pick her up for lunch

It’s not what normal Proton Iswara or Proton Wira or Honda City that most of us drive.

It’s this car

And we were like this

So boys be boys, when they see a girl being picked up by a man using that car, I tell you, speculations is the main topic for the day.

There were few speculation that really made me laugh my ass off

Colleague #1
“Aiya…you think he bought that car a?? Maybe he rent the car to show off leh??”

Colleague #2
“I think that one is not her man”

“Then who is him?”

“He is just a driver hired by her father”

Colleague #3
“Maybe he opens a used car shop and this is one of the car”

Colleague #4
This really make my laugh the most because I didn’t see it coming out from my colleague’s mouth

“Hey,J”

“Ya?”

“Did you see the number plate of the car just now?”

“No, why? You want to buy 4D?”

“No, I want to call to police station and ask whether got people hilang car or not”

I tell you, girl and car, this two really can make a man damn bitter. Men just can’t see a girl’s partner driving better car than them,especially young girls.

Well, you might ask how about me?

I’m a man so I’m the same. My speculation will be same like colleague #1, he rented that car.

And you know what makes the whole thing more interesting? The following day, he drove Perodua Myvi to fetch her for lunch.

Chance came and all sorts of new comments started to come out from my colleagues.

“See, I told you, he rented the car for a day only, he drives Myvi only la!”

“Hmm, yesterday that ‘Ahmad’ not free, this is her real bf”

“See I TOLD YOU!!POLICE FOUND THAT STOLEN CAR LIAO!!!”

And me,

“Maybe his car got tarik back by bank already, no money to pay for the installment every month”

And finally a colleague of mine said

“I don’t like her anymore”

“Why?”

“I think I like her boyfriend already. See that car….sweeeeeeet!!!”

See? Bitter or not?

What to do, it’s in our blood.

But after few days, none of us talk about her anymore.

All back to normal.

So you guys out there….I believe you all will be the same like us right????

That’s is called guy’s pillow talk.

Now girls, so you know what we guys talk about during the “pillow talk” eh

Well, after I pinged my post 2 nights ago, I went back 1 hour later to check on the pings given to my previous post

I was thinking to myself that time

Should I ping myself to get into top 8?

Hell no, I won’t.

If I ping myself, it would be no honor for me. I won’t feel proud even though my post manage to get into the top 10 featured post.

Do you know what is Competitive Blogging means?

Can you see? In the span of less than 1 hour. How many pings in Innit showing the same topic?

All were about Spain winning their 1st FIFA World Cup title.

And imagine when a person , like me, open Nuffnang Innit and see almost a full page of posts with same topic. You think I’ll click on each and every one?

Nope. I believe you will not do so.

From there, I can conclude that everyone is trying very hard to get good topic to attract traffic. But like the case above, how much traffic you think you’ll get? All the traffics will be divided among those with the same topic.

I admit. I admit that thinking about a new topic that able to attract reader is hard.Sometime you’ll have a lot of new topics. Sometime you can get out of ideas and don’t know what to write. I do end up with the situation like this, always.

There was once, I thought I was fast enough to finish a post and ping in Nuffnang Innit because the news was fresh from oven barely an hour and I hope be able to attract traffic. But right after I finished my post and ping in Nuffnang Innit, damn it, there was a post with same topic pinged 2 minutes earlier than me. I guess to be ahead of everyone in this internet blogging, especially you’re going to blog about general topics where people is interested it, 1 hour is too long. If you can do it in less than 10 minutes after the news come out, then it’ll mean something.

By the way, the post that I mentioned up is Paul’s prediction for Germany and Spain. Paul’s prediction, another hot topic. Once the news come out, a lot of people will blog about it and even until a day later, people will still blog about it.

I’m not trying to pour cold water on anyone but do you think you’ll get concentrated traffic by posting something which is a day late in internet? I don’t think so. You will get traffic but not a lot. I know, trust me. I’ve done that.

So either you can make sure that yourself is ahead of everyone, do it. If you’re like a day late and or maybe half day late, I suggest it’s good for you to think a new topic to write.

I remember when I started blogging since October 2004, blogging wasn’t that competitive as now.

But now,

I can see people post up the cheque they got from blogging

I can see people resigned from their daily 9 to 5 job and become a full time blogger.

I believe Nuffnang gets a lot of new registration everyday.

It’s hard to see a blog without advertisement.

By seeing this trend, I can say that blogging today indeed is a serious business.

Serious business is blogging.

Just now I was talking to a colleague of mine. Her department combined with another department to organize a buffet dinner in a restaurant just now. And as we talk, we came to this topic, about how people eat during buffet.

Have you ever wonder people tend to stuff their stomach until going to burst in buffet? I mean people tend to eat until the food is worth the price they pay for it. People tend to starve themselves in order to make way for the buffet’s food. Am I right?

I mean, what the hell?

You can see it especially you go to steamboat buffet. Kiasu people will only eat one thing. You know what is it? If you’re in the same thinking as me, you’ll know

Yes, it’s prawn

It’s like Oh My God. They ‘sapu’ the prawn until you can see a small hill make off prawn shells in front of their plate. Do you know that prawn is very high in cholesterol and because of you want to eat until it’s worth the money you pay, you willing to screw up your health? Or stuffing your stomach until you can’t breath.

“Alaa…once a blue moon, it’s okay, lah”

It’s not okay, at all!! Even it’s not affecting your health, you shouldn’t be having this type of mentality right? At least for me, it’s not okay, at all.

They just keep on take and take and take and at the end of the day, they can’t finish they food they take earlier on, you know how they solve it? They mix the uneaten food with the those prawn shells, used tissue papers, chicken and fish bone. So that those uneaten food looks like food waste.

I’ve seen it myself and I’ve done it myself, HELPING my friend to “solve” his food which he take it too much and unable to finish it.

People tend to turn into hungry ghost and stomp the food like they have not eaten a single meal for a week.

“Take the prawn, take the fish, more worth it. Don’t take the fish ball and meat ball, not worth it,waste money”

This is one of the most common statement you can hear when you’re in buffet.

Some even “potong” the queue when everyone is lining up to take their food. Hello, it’s buffet, the food will be replenish by the staffs once finish. Why act like as if you don’t take now, you’ll miss the chance to eat already.

I hate going buffet with people who take all the food available in the buffet and bring to table with the excuse of “taking for all of you as well”. You don’t know what I want to eat, and you decide what I should eat in buffet? Are you okay with that? Hell no for me.

I hate when people can’t finish the food they take, they turn and say to me “hey J, eat!!I know you can eat one” . Then they put the food on your plate. Nope, I’ve been on diet since half a year ago, and I’m not as big eater as you think. So stop forcing me to eat.

You can see many funny kiasu attitude in buffet. Seriously, if you pay more attention.

By the way, an advice to all of you who wants maximize the food intake during buffet by starving yourself the whole day, you’re doing it the wrong way. By starving yourself the whole day, your stomach actually will shrink and by the time you go buffet, you can’t eat much anymore.

The correct way to do it is stuff your freaking stomach until the max during breakfast. This is to stretch your stomach to maximum. then skip other meal until buffet. By doing that, you’ll have more room for your food intake. Make sure you’re hydrated throughout the day because water is a taboo in kiasu eater handbook.

I notice something very funny among us. We tend to do things redundantly but we still don’t realize about it.

One of it will be greeting when you meet your friends.

It’s like

Your friend is eating, and you walk pass him, see him eating, so you walk up and say

“Yo bro, eating,ah?”

“Er.. no, I’m eating a kitten now”

DUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Of course the friend is eating, blind ka??

This is the weird things that I’ve noticed since last time.

And surprisingly,

normal reply for that redundant question will be

“Ya lor.”

and follow with

“I see, I see”

Why can’t you choose other question??

something more straight forward, like “How’s your burger? nice or not?”

Instead of

“Eating burger ah??”

“Ya lor”

“I see, I see.How’s your burger? Nice or not?”

I don’t know about you but sometime I tend to sarcastically answer that question like just now.

“You eating a?”

“No la, I’m dancing?”

“You’re watching Ironman a?”

“No la, I’m watching porn now.”

“You’re going work a?”

“No la, I’m going for a swim”

“You’re playing balls a?”

“Ya lor, I’m playing with my balls”

People say that we’re in conscious stage when asking the question. It’s more like a polite way to greet a person. Or less aggressive way to approach people.

I don’t know but somehow I feel weird and funny la.

Last February, I went to Hard Rock Cafe Penang to listen to this band, Hydra and I was instantly fell in love with them. So last week, my brother told me that they will be performing in Hard Rock Cafe again this weekend (26-27/03/2010) and we decided to go there again. My brother and his wife went on Friday and yesterday they went again with me tagging along.

Traffic jam as usual in Penang Island during weekends. It was around 6pm. We kinda left the house earlier because I had to drop by in Farlim to pick up something and then only headed to Hard Rock Cafe.

And of course before heading to Hard Rock Cafe, we dropped by at Mount Eskine to have the western food. I had chicken chop. It was nice but if you are there next time, please don’t order their mushroom soup. It was …eerr…not so tasty. I didn’t even able to finish the mushroom soup

So after dinner at around 745pm, we headed to Hard Rock and we reached there at around 815pm. Initially we planned to reach there earlier so that we were able to park in their car park but unfortunately, we couldn’t and had been directed to park at their secondary car park opposite. And to our horror, the secondary car park was full as well. Why on earth the car park was full so early??
But luck was on our side, there was a car coming out so we were able to park without much hassle.

Hard Rock Cafe!!!wooot…the band was performing at the lobby lounge so I just took a few quick snaps and headed to lobby. To find a good seat but bloooooooooooooooody hell, those comfortable couch had been reserved and we had choose the normal chair and table.

Right before you step into the lobby, you’ll be seeing this beautiful decoration on the ceiling. Many people take picture using that as background though. One word for the decoration, NICE!!!

When we reached at the lobby, the band was already preparing.

When the band was busy preparing, I took a short walk at the pool and this was one of my random shots of the hotel.

at around 845pm, the band started to perform and it lasted until almost 12am, surprisingly. It is because their schedule was from 830pm to 11pm. But it was a good show anyway, I believe everyone of us there enjoyed their performance.

I had 2 glass of draught Carlsberg which cost me rm38 while my brother and his wife had fruit punch which cause around rm28.

Well, it was a well spent Saturday night. Enjoying things that I like. My brother told me, it is important that one needs to know how to earn and also how to enjoy. It’s useless to earn and keeps all the money and at the end of the day, when one has passed away,what also don’t have.

It’s true though. Anyway, the DJ told us that they will be coming back to Hard Rock Penang next month and I’ll be there again.
