Well, after I pinged my post 2 nights ago, I went back 1 hour later to check on the pings given to my previous post

and I saw this.

One more ping and my post will be up to the top 10 list already.

I was thinking to myself that time

Should I ping myself to get into top 8?

Hell no, I won’t.

If I ping myself, it would be no honor for me. I won’t feel proud even though my post manage to get into the top 10 featured post.

Well, it’s like getting a PJK title only.Some people might say it’s easy to get but it’s quite encouraging.

The new Nuffnang Innit website. I know it’s been awhile but I havn’t got the time to put my comment about it.

It looks nice but frankly, FRANKLY, I prefer the old Nuffnang Innit website.

Something like this.

Why?

Because I AM A LAZY READER.

I like to click, read, click, read, click, read, like it, nang it, click, read, page 2, click, read, click, read, comment, like it, nang it, click, read.

I consider myself as a general type of reader. I read whatever things I click.

But the new Nuffnang Innit website have this different categories for specific type of blog post.

They have few main categories then expand down to few sub categories.

So as I am a lazy reader, again, for once, got stuck in front of a website because I don’t know which category to start with.

But but, this post is not to bombard Nuffnang Innit, they actually do a great job in this website, to improve the website and

There is one thing I really need to highlight about new Nuffnang Innit website.

They now have 10 featured post in each category already!!!

This is actually a very good idea and concept. I like it a lot.

Well, I guess it’s time for me to get use to this new website.

Hehehe

Okay now, which sub-category I should ping my post too.

Ah, found it, I’ll ping it in “Blogsphere” sub-category. Hope it’s the right one.

Nang in Innit is important. Everyone knows that well. Everyone hope their post get very high number of nangs in order to go to the top 10 list.

This is good. And will increase your blog traffic.

But, one question.

let me take a deep breathe 1st before I continue. This is a “nangs suicidal” post.

Okay,

One question. What are you nanging for?

Do you nang because you read the post?

Do you nang because you like the post?

Or

Do you nang because you hope that person will nang you back. So practically you open Innit homepage and nang all the post submitted there without even read the post?

I nang because I like the post. That’s the purpose of nang in Nuffnang Innit, right?

Before you start calling or saying me jealous because I don’t get much nangs for each of my post.

Let me tell you, I’m really happy when I see my post got nangs from reader.

Then I started to think, of all the nangs, how many actually really read and like it. Sorry for having doubts towards my nangs.

But I would prefer you nang it if you like it. This will actually make me happy because someone actually like my post and my blog!

Of course you can nang and hope I’ll nang you back

But, sorry, I won’t do that. I’ll only nang those that really put effort into writing the post.

If you have given a choice, will you choose power or money? And you can only choose one.

This is a question asked by my friend few years ago.

At 1st I told him I would choose money over power. I mean who cares about power of authority if you have money right?

He told me he would choose power over money. He said power of authority is important in society these days.

After these few weeks under hectic workload in my job, I would agree with him. Power of authority is indeed VERY important. You have the say, and people listen to you. When I handle this project, I really felt very helpless without any power of authority. At that time, suddenly this question popped out in my thought. And I told myself, how I wish I have the power of authority. Not saying that I have totally none. I do have, I still able to instruct and give orders but there’s a limit to it and that time I need more than the limit given to me.

Once I asked this question to my colleague. They told me it’s all the same. There is a balance between power and money.

How, I asked.

They said, when you have power, automatically, you’ll have money. And when you have money, automatically you’ll have power.

It’s bloody true, isn’t it.

But still, I insist, I say the question is If You’re Given A Choice, What Will You Choose? Power Or Money.

Choose only one.

They didn’t know how to choose it.

Seriously, I don’t know too.

What will you choose?

p/s: Really hectic weeks for me and I hardly got time to blog. Once I’m back home, I’ll be dead tired on bed. But the project is coming to an end and I feel much relax compare to past few days.

When I was young, I always tell myself to respect people no matter what that person does for his/her living. And I also tell myself that never ever judge a person by his/her looks.

As for my job, sometime I need to get down to production line to settle those issue faced by production. To cut the story short, after some period of working in the same line, I got to know this girl. She’s one of the operator of the line. She’s in her early 20s, quite pretty looking and she’s from Vietnam. As she knows how to converse in BM, I started to chat with her while monitoring the line. I asked about where she stays in Malaysia. She told me she’s is staying in an apartment with other operators. Very normal conversation and suddenly I ask her about her family background. Asking what is her parents doing for the living back in Vietnam. And I got a shock hearing her answer. I was expecting some low income profession what force her to come here to work and send money back but it’s not.

Apparently, her dad is a doctor and her mum is the state library’s head librarian. And she herself used to work in her dad’s clinic. I proceed to ask her why she still comes to Malaysia and work as operator since she’s able to live such comfortable life back home. She said she had a huge argument with her dad where she secretly give the patients expensive medicine because she felt pity for them. And her dad found out and they had argument. Within 2 weeks, she arrived in Malaysia.

Seriously, I got a shock and I kinda admire her for her courage to come so far from her home to work but in a meantime, I feel she is very stupid and silly of doing that. How contradict my thinking is but seriously, when you see a foreigner walking on the street, never ever assume that they’re from low class family. Because they might have some interesting story behind them.

One thing I notice about Nuffnang is that your blog need to have a lot of local traffics.

Local traffic means traffic comes from Malaysia.

Why you might ask. Because Nuffnang is a local company and all their advertisements are local targeted.

Do you think those visitors from Zimbabwe will click on the advertisement that promote Digi or Taylor’s Colleague? They will but chances is very low, lo.

So don’t be happy yet if you got a lot of unique visitors but majority are from outside Malaysia.

I have only 37.5% out of 100% traffics from Malaysia this week.

Pretty low but I’ll work hard for it.

Hippocreep.com/blog is a local blog and have no intention to go international.

So support support a bit, la!

Well,that is one thing I notice about Nuffnang. Correct me if I’m wrong.

My friend called me this evening

She :”Hey, let me tell you something. It makes me damn pissed!!”

Me :”Woohh, what happened?”

She :”You see, I was rushing to my facial session and when I was looking for a parking lot, I saw a car double park the place.”

Me :”Okay, then you go look for other parking lot, lah“

She :” No no, you know what? It was a BMW and a guy is sitting inside that car and what pissed me off was when I honked him and put the signal light telling him I wanted to park, he just made that he didn’t see me and continue sitting in the car doing nothing!!!”

Well, after I heard she said that, it instantly pissed me off. I don’t know, maybe but I have this thinking of those who drives a luxury car such as BMW or Merc or Audi or those worth more than rm200k, are very cocky and very inconsiderate. So what you’re driving a big car but act like an idiot on the road? My friend already honked and signal light to indicate she wanted to park, you still sit in the car doing nothing?

Maybe by driving big car, people will scare of you. Maybe by driving big car, police will scare of you. Maybe by driving big car, you ‘ll have immunity on the road. Maybe, I don’t know.

And, do you realize that those who drive big car are very stingy people? You can see from those commercial places, they will park their car beside the road side but not the proper parking lot. It’s just rm1 or rm2 only for the parking fee. Why risk of getting a traffic summon or get clamped by the city council?

Maybe to them, traffic summon is cheaper than the parking fee

That makes me thinking.

There are already too many idiot on the road already, please don’t increase the number.

Still don’t understand what is idiot on the road?

Do you know what is Competitive Blogging means?

See the pictures below

Can you see? In the span of less than 1 hour. How many pings in Innit showing the same topic?

All were about Spain winning their 1st FIFA World Cup title.

And imagine when a person , like me, open Nuffnang Innit and see almost a full page of posts with same topic. You think I’ll click on each and every one?

Nope. I believe you will not do so.

From there, I can conclude that everyone is trying very hard to get good topic to attract traffic. But like the case above, how much traffic you think you’ll get? All the traffics will be divided among those with the same topic.

I admit. I admit that thinking about a new topic that able to attract reader is hard.Sometime you’ll have a lot of new topics. Sometime you can get out of ideas and don’t know what to write. I do end up with the situation like this, always.

There was once, I thought I was fast enough to finish a post and ping in Nuffnang Innit because the news was fresh from oven barely an hour and I hope be able to attract traffic. But right after I finished my post and ping in Nuffnang Innit, damn it, there was a post with same topic pinged 2 minutes earlier than me. I guess to be ahead of everyone in this internet blogging, especially you’re going to blog about general topics where people is interested it, 1 hour is too long. If you can do it in less than 10 minutes after the news come out, then it’ll mean something.

By the way, the post that I mentioned up is Paul’s prediction for Germany and Spain. Paul’s prediction, another hot topic. Once the news come out, a lot of people will blog about it and even until a day later, people will still blog about it.

I’m not trying to pour cold water on anyone but do you think you’ll get concentrated traffic by posting something which is a day late in internet? I don’t think so. You will get traffic but not a lot. I know, trust me. I’ve done that.

So either you can make sure that yourself is ahead of everyone, do it. If you’re like a day late and or maybe half day late, I suggest it’s good for you to think a new topic to write.

I remember when I started blogging since October 2004, blogging wasn’t that competitive as now.

But now,

I can see people post up the cheque they got from blogging

I can see people resigned from their daily 9 to 5 job and become a full time blogger.

I believe Nuffnang gets a lot of new registration everyday.

It’s hard to see a blog without advertisement.

By seeing this trend, I can say that blogging today indeed is a serious business.

Serious business is blogging.

Well well well…in another 6 hours, whole world will be watching FIFA World Cup 2010 Final between Holland and Spain. Both countries never win any World Cup title before and after today, either one of the team will have a star printed on their jersey for next season
